Remarks by Oncologist After Ayurvedic Treatment |
This is 50 years old male patient of carcinoma of renal pelvis, post surgery. In this case complete remission is seen for 11 years 2 months of Ayurvedic treatment. Patient could tolerate chemotherapy with minimal side effects. Patient is now asymptomatic and no recurrence is seen after September 1999. Haemogram, renal function tests and urine routine studies are normal. Cystoscopy, sonography and urine cytology show no new growth or recurrence of malignancy. Observed 10 year survival in this type of cases is 23%. His Karnofsky score now is 100 and ECOG score is 0. |

HPR: | Right nephroureterectomy (1/1/1998) – Papillary transitional cell carcinoma grade III of pelvis of right kidney. No lymph node metastasis (0/2). Tumour superficially invading wall of pelvis. Renal parenchyma unremarkable. Hilar blood vessels and adrenal glands uninvolved. TURBT (15/6/1998) – Papillary transitional cell carcinoma, grade II. Lamina propria is free. Muscle tissue is not seen in biopsy. Lower 1/3rd ureter – bladder cuff (22/9/99) – Residual papillary transitional cell carcinoma, grade II of III, high grade involving the right lower ureter and bladder cuff. Lamina propria and muscle are not involved. Necrosis is noted. The proximal ureteric cut margin shows high grade urothelial dysplasia. The distal cut margin shows presence of tumour. |

This is 29 years old male patient of teratoma and choriocarcinoma of testis, post surgery and chemotherapy. In this case complete remission is seen for 5 years with Ayurvedic treatment. Patient is not taking any treatment since May 2004. USG abdomen, alpha feto protein and BHCG values are done each year and are within normal limits. No recurrence is seen. Observed 5 year survival in cases such as this is 69%. His Karnofsky score is 100 and ECOG score is 0. |
