Shri. Prabhakar Sardeshmukh Maharaj in 1954 with a vision to serve the mankind. He has guided us to study, thoughtfully implement the basic principles of our ancient and traditional knowledge and compliment it with today\u2019s advanced technology for better results. The Cancer Research Project was started in 1994 at BSDT, Wagholi under the guidance of Revered Shri. Prabhakar Sardeshmukh Maharaj. I was fortunate to work under his guidance and got teamed up with an eminent personality, Dr. Arvind Kulkarni, who has always been a strong support for this institute.<\/p>\n<p>The ultimate goal is to be united and fight against Cancer. ICTRC, which is also a \u201cCentre of Excellence in Integrated Cancer Treatment\u201d (recognised by Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India) has been striving continuously in the field of Cancer Treatment and Research with an integrated approach. We are proud to be also affiliated with the \u201cIndian Cancer Society\u201d. We are honoured to have received encouragement and support from the esteemed Tata Trusts for our Cancer Research Centre. They have generously funded us for the \u201cPanchakarma Hospital for Cancer\u201d, the present venue of this Conference. The Tata Trusts have also funded for Cancer Research projects, giving relief and treatment to numerous needy cancer patients.<\/p>\n<p>ICTRC takes a special initiative to conduct various camps and awareness lectures at different locations in Maharashtra as well as India. It has been successfully organizing International Conferences on \u2018Ayurved for Cancer\u2019 after every five years since 1997. It aims to amalgamate under one roof various Vaidyas, Ayurveda experts, Researchers as well as Medical oncologists, Oncopathologists, Oncosurgeons and Radiation oncologists. It gives all an unbiased and open platform to have a dialogue with various individuals and organizations. It is an opportunity to share their researches, experiences and advances done individually or collectively to treat the Cancer patients in a better manner. I believe that International Conferences on \u2018Ayurved for Cancer\u2019 will provide an impetus for sharing of knowledge and developing better treatment protocols in the benefit of Cancer patients.<\/p>\n<p>I pray to the almighty for the wellness of the patients as well as for the numerous professionals and organizations across the globe who are making an effort in treating Cancer and doing Research activities.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Dr. S.
