In many Cancer patients, it helps to reduce sufferings, minimize side-effects of Chemotherapy &amp; Radiotherapy. It also helps to prevent recurrence of Cancer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Treatment (Chikitsa) of Cancer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mitigating 3 dosha (Tridosh &#8211; Shamak) according to dominance of doshas<\/li>\n<li>Dhatvagni &#8211; Deepan :- Improving Metabolic Activities (dhatvagni) specially Rasa &#8211; Rakta &amp; Mansa dhatvagni.<\/li>\n<li>Controlling Dhatugata Avastha :- (The nature of doshas of embedding in deeper &amp; deeper tissues &amp; vitiating them)<\/li>\n<li>Prevention of Dhatupaka Avastha :- By Pittashamak &amp; Rakta prasadak treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Rejuvenation to affected organ (Rasayana) :- Depending upon strength of the patient and vitiated doshas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Panchakarma (Shodhana Chikitsa)\u00a0<\/strong>eliminates the vitiated doshas from the body.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pre procedures (Purvakarma)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Internal &amp; External oletion (Snehana) :- Snehana should be done for 3 to 7 days with plain or medicated Clarified butter (ghee) or Oil (Taila), till the symptoms of appropriate Oral administration of oil \/ ghee (Snehapana) are seen.<\/li>\n<li>Sudation (Swedana) :- Sarvanga sweda (Sudation to complete body) should be done either with plain water vapours or with vapours of herbal decoction, immediately after snehana.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Main procedures (Pradhana Karma)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Inducing vomiting <em>(Vamana)<\/em> :<br \/>\nAppropriate Condition :- Kapha dominating symptoms in Cancer.<br \/>\nAppropriate Cancer site :- CA of sites over umbilicus. e.g. CA Lung, CA Breast.<\/li>\n<li>Inducing Purgation <em>(Virechana) <\/em>:<br \/>\nAppropriate Condition :- Pitta dominating symptoms in Cancer.<br \/>\nAppropriate Cancer site :- CA of site at umbilicus. e.g. CA Liver CA Pancreas.<\/li>\n<li>Medicated enema <em>(Basti) :<\/em><br \/>\nAppropriate Condition :- Vata dominating symptoms in Cancer.<br \/>\nAppropriate Cancer site :- CA of sites below umbilicus. e.g. CA Rectum.<\/li>\n<li>Nasal Medication to eliminate the Doshas <em>(Nasya) :<br \/>\n<\/em>Appropriate Condition :- Kapha &amp; Vata dominating symptoms in Cancer.<br \/>\nAppropriate Cancer site :- CA of sites above neck region. e.g. CA Brain.<\/li>\n<li>Blood letting <em>(Raktamokshana)<\/em> :<br \/>\nAppropriate Condition :- Symptoms of vitiated Pitta &amp; Rakta in Cancer.<br \/>\nAppropriate Cancer site :- CA of Blood dominating sites. e.g. CA Liver.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Post &#8211; procedures (Pashchat Karma)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Immediately after Panchakarma, Digestion Power <em>(Jatharagni)<\/em> becomes weak. To improve it slowly, the patient should follow special diet regime i.e. Sansarjana Karma.\u00a0It lasts for 4 to 10 days.<br \/>\nIt contains &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thin rice gruel<em> (Peya)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Thick rice gruel <em>(Vilepi)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Plain bean soup <em>(Akruta Yusha)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Medicated bean soup <em>(Kruta Yusha)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Plain non-veg soup <em>(Akruta Mansarasa)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Medicated non-veg soup <em>(Kruta Mansarasa)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*Note :- The general rule is that the vitiated Doshas should be eliminated by the nearer path in the body.
