An ISO 9001:2015 lab established under Tata Trusts funding (Grant No. – Health-BSDT-20151007) for immunological and molecular marker analysis of cancer patients.
More than 2000 samples have been assayed for these markers under four clinical projects on breast and oral cavity cancers (Funded by Tata Trusts – 2015 to 2021) and additional 4500 samples stored in -80 °C for future analysis.
Eleven Ayurvedic formulations studied in vitro by phytochemical (Total Phenol, Total Tannin, Total Flavonoids) and anti-oxidant assays (DPPH, Phospho-molybdate).
Recently developed an Animal Tissue Culture Lab for cell-line maintenance and cytotoxicity MTT assay
A Zebrafish Animal Experimentation Lab developed for FET assay, Artemia preparation, breeding and staining of fish under the able guidance of Emeritus Prof. Dr Nishigandha Naik.
Preliminary FET assay and MTT assay on A375, MCF-7, MCF-10A, and MDA-MB-231 cell lines have been performed for Ayurvedic formulations like Arogyavardhini Vati, Khadhirarishta and Raupya Suvarna Sutashekhar Rasa.
Facilities:
Molecular analysis using DNA-RNA Isolation, PCR and Gel Electrophoresis
Blood processing for ELISA readings of cytokines (IL1, IL6, IL8, IL10) and redox markers (SOD, Catalase, Glutathione).
ELISA based phytochemical and antioxidant assays
FET assay, cardiotoxicity, fin-regeneration, cartilage and bone growth studies in Zebra fish model
MTT cytotoxicity assay on A375, MCF-7, MCF-10A, and MDA-MB-231 cell lines.
Current projects:
Estimation of thioethers in urine samples of addicted and non-addicted cancer and non-cancer patients.
Sample collection and Serum separation of various blood samples for different proteomics studies.
